urban furniture, Oakland's new non-profit furniture thrift store offically opened on October 3, 2009. The purpose of urban furniture is to educate, employ and empower single mothers by providing on-the-job training, support and education. We turned one month on November 3, 2009 and celebrate, we'd like to say 'Welcome," to our first mom, Willina Perkins. A native Oakland resident, Willina is a young mom of two children with retail experience, a great personality and the desire to reach her full potential.
